2012 Transformer Mural for Art in Public Places of Fort Collins, Colorado

625 S. Mason Street Transformers

What inspired this?
“I approached this transformer project with modern sculpture intentions. I looked to Claes Oldenburg’s ordinary household objects as “heros”, Marcel Duchamp’s humor filled “ready-mades” and even modern graffitiartists – when done well – they ask the viewer to see everyday objects in new ways. I chose to make a cheeky presentation in the vein of modern art’s “ordinary objects as extraordinary” theme. Did someone super, super, super-sized their meal and forgotten it in the parking lot? No, but what fun we’ll all have enjoying this modern art for many years and without calorie-filled guilt!”
